Gumleaves and Grimoires is Live!

Why Gumleaves and Grimoires has its own YouTube Home

I have made the decision to move the Gumleaves and Grimoires songs to their own dedicated YouTube channel. This wasn’t a sudden change, and it wasn’t about separating ideas that don’t belong together. Quite the opposite – it was about honouring two audiences that connect differently, even though their paths often cross.

Two Worlds, Two Ways of Listening

The songs that live under Gumleaves and Grimoires tend to speak to a more inward, reflective space. They are quieter, deeper, and often more personal – written for moments of stillness, ritual, grounding, reflection, and emotional processing. They sit comfortably with meditation, spiritual practice, moon cycles, seasonal turning, and the unseen threads that run through everyday life.

Other songs I create – particularly those connected to Australian storytelling, nature, humour, and shared cultural moments, naturally speak to a broader, more outward-facing audience. They are lighter in tone, more narrative-driven, and often designed to be shared, sung, or simply enjoyed together.

While these worlds are intertwined, they are not always listened to in the same way.

Clarity for the Listener

By giving Gumleaves and Grimoires its own channel, listeners can now choose their experience more intentionally:

This clarity helps each collection feel more coherent, more respectful of the listener’s headspace, and more aligned with why someone clicked “play” in the first place.

Still Intertwined — Just Not Crowded

It’s important to say this clearly: these worlds are still connected.

They share values – reverence for nature, kindness, presence, creativity, and quiet magic. There will still be moments where themes overlap, where a song feels at home in both places, or where one world gently nods to the other.

But giving Gumleaves and Grimoires its own home allows it to be what it truly is, without having to explain itself or soften its edges.

A More Intentional Creative Path

This change also helps me create more intentionally. When I sit down to write or release a Gumleaves and Grimoires song now, I know exactly who I’m speaking to and why. That clarity matters – especially when working with music that holds emotional or spiritual weight.

Nothing has been taken away. Something has simply been given the space it deserves.

If you’ve followed these songs already, thank you for walking with me into this new chapter. And if you’re just discovering them now – welcome.
